Crazy hood gap!
I just installed my Harwood 4 inch cowl hood and now i have this massive 1/2" gap at the front end of my hood. Is there any way to raise up the front fascia to meet up with the hood any? I have already bottomed out the latch mechanism on its mount. I lowered the rubber hood stops to their lower limit.I trimmed off the front of the hood already too. The sides line up nicely and the rear corners meet up well with the fenders, i just have this huge gap at the front..... HELP its ugly.

Try cutting a coil off the bottom of the hood spring. It should bring the hood about an 1/8th in. closer to the bumper cover. Good luck with it, Josh.

what hoodspring?
2 things:
1. Loosen a few bolts on the nose of the car and then u can get someone to lift it up while u re tighten the bolts.. i got a good 1/2 at least out of this
2. everything is ajustable on the F-bodies, almost. loosen the bolts on the hood that attach it to the struts and pull the hood forward

Thanks now i have a few different routes. Last night i actually started elongating the latch mechanism holes, that is working out a little bit of it.

I was in a slight front end collision and replaced the front fascia with an aftermarket fascia (bad idea). Fitment problems everywhere. And when it finally got together, there was a gap between the top of the fascia and the hood that made it look like the hood was always popped. I got sick of it, so I unscrewed the 9 or so screws at the top of the fascia, where the hood latch is, and shimmed it up about 1 inch all around. And by shims, I mean poker chips
. I want to get some rubber grommets to put around the screws, to make it look more professional, but poker chips were around and they were perfect for adjusting the hieght a fraction all around.
Attatched pic: Left is front fascias with the gap, the right is the front after my pokerchip fix.

You have to pay attention on the notes for those Harwood hoods... they tell you that some trimming may be required. Most people have to trim the side edges of the hood so it closes all the way... and I think there is aliitle overlay in the front as well...

Yeah there is a good bit of overlay in the front but i already trimmed it down, i haven't even cut down the sides yet. I hope that isn't my problem all along.
