How do you remove the rear window defroster button in the firebirds?

Pull the dash out and then the button.

Remove the plastic cover for the gauges. The defrost has 2x 9/32" holding it on from the backside

Likely have to drop the steering column and unscrew the dash pad to get the trim piece off, atleast I had to

You have to drop the column to get the radio Trim off?

The trim surrounding the gauges also holds the defrost button on 89's
It just so happens to be difficult to remove with the column set

Has absolutely nothing to do with the radio trim

Later models had a removable switch panel and still had the buttons screwed to the back, so you didnt have to remove the whole gauge trim unit

If yours were taped to the back of the radio trim then you have a serious hackjob firebird. Not even close to where the button should go

eBay Motors: 1982-1992 Firebird Dash Gauge Bezel Trim Interior (item 8042339038 end time Apr-28-06 07:55:01 PDT)

This is the trim where it should be

Its deleted for this one, but you can see how its attached to the back
