70's interior in 3rd gen?
HI, ive seen alot of guys doing 90s interiors into the 3rd gens. I dont like those new interiors and Im really in love with that vintage muscle car feel and the closes thing to that is a 70s camaro. Will it fit a third gen. Do you think it will be to much of a hassel. IM good with the interior i have but if i had a choice it would be a first gen interior. I noe thats not going to happen but a 70s might be possiblbe. What do you guys think?????

The front seats are no problem, just a little fab work on the backets. The best imo would be the "custom" seats from the 78-81 trans am. The rear seat back would not fit without major rebuilding, the rear bottoms can be made to fit.

I was looking at doing something similar. Maybe an entire car (not my Iroc) with a vintage feel.
Although the actual 2nd gen interior may be tricky, I was thinking about getting black leather/vinyl seat covers for the thirdgen seats, same for the door panels. Maybe get some chrome trim/piping for the door panels. A little minor dash and console fabbing to tuck some autometer gauges in some custom locations. Put the tach and speedo close together first gen style. Make a quad cluster for the console. A polished shift lever with a big white hurst **** and some firstgen "Camaro" emblems on the dash.....
I'm gonna do it someday!

my 86 has leatrher door panels and i would just get the back seat redone. All i would want is the dash out of like a 79 with the front buckets. Im startin to see a bunch of irocs with ls1 interiors and i would rather go backwards.

i had thought about this before i though it would be cool to put some "ventage" badges on the out side like the 350 in front of the side markers and use the fender vents from a 1981 camaro use some second gen wheels and the seats and a second steering wheel. to put a splash of first gen in to the ride use some custom hockey stripes
