1st rule of painting..
BLACK SHOWS EVERY THING!!

most good body shops wont just spray on black and say there U go.. for a simple basic black paint job.. it must be perped perfitly.. Body , primer, cleaning.. one little ripple will stick out like a major dent on a black paint job.. Black looks great when done right.. but if someone does as cheap job on it.. U will be wishing it was still in primer.. So dont be upset with the higher prices for the paint job.. but do go out and look carfully at the jobs there thay are working on and how there finished work looks.. Even ask other customers that are going in and out .. A good shop will have no problem showing off there work..

just food for thought, i am doing a black paintjob on my car soon.. The liquids alone cost me $650 for House of Kolor... materials and time comes out to some good cash.. Cheap paint will cost around $250, but $800 for them to get the paint and spray it doesnt sound tooo unreasonable...

First I would find a shop that wants to work with you.

That way if they find something wrong , they will let u know before they paint it.

The other part is, ask them for some references on other complete paint jobs they have done.

If u like it, go for it, questionable run away.

Finding a good bodyshop nowadays isnt very easy.

99% of them are purely insurance money driven and dont take the time or the money to do things like you or I would consider good.(not bashing them all, but most work this way unfortuneatly)
