What Should I Pay For Camaro Grid Tailight
I found a set of grid tailights on a 1991 RS Camaro in a salvage yard. They don't appear to be broken but the lenses and the black trim are very dull looking.
I think they would probably polish up nicely.
How much should I expect to pay for the pair? I'd have to remove them from the vehicle myself.

The three-row taillights from the Z28s, IROCs, and RSes seem to be a lot harder to find these days. The prices tend to fluctuate wildly depending on who's selling them, too.
I've seen them go as high as $100 per side, and that's straight off a totaled Camaro in the junkyard. Brand new they are upwards of $225 each from Classic Industries.
I was able to get a set from a junkyard for $50. I didn't even need them but made the purchase anyway since the market is so unusual. I ended up polishing the lights and using them on my car. They do clean up quite nicely. The black gridlines can be easily painted by masking off the lenses (or using a brush, if you have a steady hand).
The two-row style used on every other Camaro seems to go for dirt cheap, like ten dollars per pair. It's the elusive Z28 lights that everybody wants.

No matter how junk looking...they can look mint as long as there not cracked/chipped ect.
Grids im working on were pretty foggy/hazy/small scatches.
I can polish any grid to like new condition. In my opinion better then they came new.
I paid $60 for 1 set shipped to my door other set i paid $55 shipped to my door. Wouldnt go any higher then $60-70 for both.
Ebay they will go for more...you gotta check the classifieds here.

Steve,
These look hazy. I've read the thread on polishing. The black trim areas are real dull and look almost oxidized. Will the black grid areas polish up as nicely as the actual lenses?
Thanks for the replies.

As long as ur not seeing paint through the black id just polish it. If ur seeing lots of spots of paint do like what was said and paint all the sections in between...
If you got a buffer and some polish ud be amazed what you can do with it. I also wetsanded but you dont have to.

just a little tip, i usually have my cell phone at the junk yard and when i see something that i don't know the price i call them up and ask how much. then i see if it is worth my time to pull. and it beats walking all the way back to the front and asking in person.

Wow you guys have it bad....
$10 for both from a 91/2 z28 here...
T-top, $20 for both
Dash pad, $10
Any radio $5 if you pull it, $15 if it's already been pulled
I can't image paying $100 for tailights at a JUNK yard...especially not for 1 tailight
