Not at all. Last month there was a 98 with 60K miles going for 7999 on a dealership lot.

Deals are out there. Just have to look

yah but u see i dont want a 4th gen i dont like em i like 3rd better. but i didnt think 7k was worth it but 1500 for the body and interior and everything except the motor is worth it to me with him pulling the motor himself.

If he is giving you EVERYTHING except the motor and trans, then i think that it would be worth over 1500, just think, assuming that the body is in perfect condtion, how much money you would save on bodywork alone... If you dont take it, where is it located?

Edit, hell for 1500 you can have more parts then you can imagine...

I can't imagine how somebody is getting a nice 98 for those kinds of prices. We can't get nice LT1 cars for under $6k around here.

Then again, I suppose everybody has a different opinion of "nice".

when i was looking for my 3rd gen i was finding 4th gen ls1s for way cheaper. I almost gave in. but then found my T/A for 5,000 with 68,000 miles on it. i feel i got ripped off because after i bought it it needed a new tranny and had the engine light on a few days after i got it.... MAF sensor...

Car: '82 formula clone, 95 saab 900se
Engine: 350 vortec'd tbi, 2.0L turbo
Transmission: 700r4, 5 spd
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt 2.77 open
maybe 3-4k i would spend on it
then again an ls1 with a 6 spd is very appealing too
