Anyone know how to remove Dynamat?
Hey everyone,
I am painting my 91 RS Vert. About 3 years ago, I put dynamat extreme on the bottom side of the trunklid. Well, now I want to paint there. Does anyone know how to get this stuff off?
Thanks,
Mark B

an act of *** perhaps?
see if you can put a space heater (one of those 1500W little electric heaters), pointing towards it, and let it warm up really good. Then try a putty knife, wear gloves, it'll stick to anything and be smoking hot... Then perhaps acetone/laquer thinner to get residue off?
I think it's a long shot, but it may work.
If it rips off in chunks or something, use a twisted wire brush on an angle grinder to shred the crap off. That worked for my factory sealer gunk, but it makes a hell of a mess. Last resort.

Get a heat gun and go to town. A space heater or hair dryer wont cut it. After getting that stuff nice and toasty, give it a pull and it should come off (wear gloves though).
