stress cracks or what?
ok i have a crack right where the red crooked arrow is pointing! is this a normal stress crack point? my cousin had a 67 camaro with a 454 and had the same cracks! what i don't understand is this is a v6 car. so my next question is does anyone have any subframe connectors laying around they wanna get rid of? because the 91 is fixing to have a 355 stuffed in it.

When i bought my car it had the same cracks (v6). Then bought another v6 parts car and had the same cracks. Also both of my friends with camaros have those cracks. So i would say it is very common.

It's also common because there is a metal seam there. It's where the roof meets the quarter panel, and the seam is brazed over.

I have the same problem, I have T-Tops and the crack is on the drivers side. But its farther down, more where the top of the door meets the side piece that comes down. inbetween the back window and the door. At the end of the crack....drill a hole first. That will stop the crack, then weld it. Then do your body work.

Actually there was a service recall on that problem waaaaaaaaaayyyyyy back when it was first found out in the late 80's i believe. they ended up removing the roof skin and rewelding a new one onto it. it is an extremely common problem and one pretty easily fixed really.
