ever thought of makin this?

Well the reason i thought of this was cause i jsut finished watching that movie "stealth" it kinda reminded me of my 4th gen and how i was tryin go with a cockpit feel in the interior. but my question is has anyone ever thought up or made a shift **** that looks like a jets joystick?

I for see 2 possibilities. 1. rotating plates on the roof. or 2. rotating plates on the fenders. I think the fenders will not take up head room.

Wish that shifter could be done to an auto.

I'd love to have missles under the door flap. It would definitely help eliminate the stupid driver problem. And to the original poster:

What would make an auto any diff from a manual? Your just modifyin the joystick to fit over a rod

With an auto youd just set one of the buttons to work the gear lockout lever

I have to ask this, firebat where did you find that image, or where is it from? Cool pic.

i like the looks the first one better, as the joystick goes.

I can't believe i found where i got it from. I had the pic saved from cardomain, and i guess cardomain puts a number in the filename..533877_10_full.jpg...anyway....

kinda mixed on the shifter myself but it would be able to serve as a great area to use switched easily.

found a site here

any one else see on that cardomain site with the car with the rockets in the door the SPY PLANE that flys out of the hood and is controlled by a joystick built into the center consol?! would be sooooo awsome if that really worked. ive never seen or heard of the show the car was on though

also some one asked about finding a handle.. well i thoguht of a real cheap way...... buy a video game joystick for a flight simulator. buttons would be easier to wire up. and i see them at goodwill all the time cause no on plays flight simulators any more.
