removing the rear seat "stud"
I'm trying to remove the rea interior plastic panels so i can get to the rear speakers and i got snagged on the rear seat stud. I'm talking about the one metal stud on the passenger side which holds the rear seat up. It looks like it can take a large torx screwdriver right in the middle but i wanted to make sure that it's supposed to come out first. It looks as though i could just slip the plasic panel over it and not even remove the stud but i don't want to have to cut off the little plastic cover on the stud. Any help would be appreciated, THANKS!

The tool is a T-50, and attaches to a ratchet. It is also the same bit to remove seatbelts and the rear hatch shocks. Get one and keep it, they come in handy. If I remember I had to take it out to remove the panel.

T50 will work, T47 is a perfect fit. Also, in regards to the original post, you don't need to remove the plastic to get to your rear speakers. You only have to remove the hook that's held in by a philips head screw. once that's out, the fabric covered speaker cover can be shifted up and pulled off to give you access to your rear speakers.

Oh, i guess i forgot to mention i have a standard so it didn't come with rear speakers, so therefore there's no sail panel to just remove. I bought the brackets to mount the 6x9s in the rear wall so i have to take off the entire panel to install the bracket. Now i habe to decide whether i should just drill a bunch of holes in the panel over where the speaker is or try to mount some sail panels where they weren't intended to be. Any advice?

manual windows and locks
manual radio (when i first got it)
no rear spoiler

A 1LE is not what you are working with. Your kickin it with a base model camaro. You need to go hunt a set of rear plastics with speaker grills to make it look factory. Should only cost a few bucks at the scrapper. Good luck brother.

I'll get some pics up, give me like 2 days. Does anyone have any rear plastics in grey? If not ill keep searching the other posts. Shipping will be a bitch though. Do you think they'd have them at regular junk yards?

I've been to several junkyards on a regular basis and seens plenty of f-bodies, but i've never seen the style you're describing. So if you are looking for that type, it'd be hard to come by. If you want ones with the rear speakers in grey, that shouldn't be hard to come by at all. I look forward to seeing the pics

I bought an A/C delete box from an '86 Camaro in the junkyard that had NO options I could see. It had no a/c, rear speakers, rear spoiler or even rear defroster. I almost bought the rear plastics just because I'd never seen any without the speakers in them.
