VIN Decodation?
Hello,
I took another trip to a local Salvage yard to but some parts for my 'maro. Unfortunately the 85 Z-28, that I wanted parts off of, had been crushed. I was devestated at first butthen I hopped upon 3 more Camaro's. One was a berlinetta, another was just a plain black sport coupe with Fog lights, and the third was the prized jewel, a 87-89 camaro with GFX. It had a bunch of parts that I want, problem is that I was told that they didnt have a title for it, and I needed ot call back in 3 or 4 weeks, so guys cross your fingers thatI can get what I need off of it, and if anyone here wants parts off these "mostly to wholly complete 87-89, then PM or Email me. Anyways here is the Vins off the 3 cars, and I was hoping someone here could decode them for me so I can figure out excatly what each car is.
The first one was the plain black sport coupe:
1G1FP87S4GL149749
The second was the Berlinetta:
G1A587H7EL163980
And the Third is the 87-89 that i'm wanting parts off of badly!:
1G1FP21S0JL101792
2 of the cars have mint dashpads, so i'm hoping I can get them for a steal, and sell them to someone on here, that needs one badly. But once again, if anyone needs parts off these cars, email or PM me and i'll get with you on it.

First of all you cannot decode a car unless you have the RPO codes that are usually in the center console or the rear trunk glove box. You are looking for a VIN decoder which wont tell you much. We can all use a bunch of parts so grab everything you can and sell them.

Like Iron Duke says without RPO's from the cars all VIN tells you is the basics but I'll take a shot at these I hope it helps;
The first VIN is a '86 Van Nuys Sport Coupe with a 2.8 MFI HO(LB8)
The second VIN is a '84 Van Nuys Berlinetta 5.0 4BBL(LG4) The 5 in the VIN has to be a "S"
The third VIN is a '88 Van Nuys Sport Coupe with a 2.8 MFI HO(LB8).The SC started using the '87 Z's facia and GFX.
And I,like a lot of people,could use a nice dash pad badly.And like Iron Duke suggested grab what you can or maybe give of us an idea of what's there.

Hello,
I hope you have good intentions on TGO. There are many people who post here who only like to take advantage of fellow members. I bought a MINT dashpad from a fellow member for $70 shipped from WA to NM.. I wish you the best but if you intend to make a MINT bypass TGO and sell on E-Bay.
