Ram air II hood q's.

When I picked up my camaro it had the ram air II hood already on it. Regardless of whether it looks good on there, is there any way to make this reasonably functional. Yes the holes have been cut already in the nostrils of the hood. However my car posses a carbed motor and the air box for the thing is made for tpi cars. And I wanted the air ducted rather than just flowing through the engine bay so I can maximize the usefulness of the hood. Luckily I do have the dual snorkel air cleaner so I guess I could just pipe it that way, however before I did that I wanted to see what some of you guys with there hoods tackled this. Also will stock WS6 nostril covers (grates?) fit in these hoods?

not sure about the ws6 plates fitting correctly....to be honest I think ours are a little bigger, but I cant say for sure. As far as air induction (not that it will ever really give you anything noticeable power-wise) Im running an open element, which in theory would be nice since all the air rushing in would go to the filter....however in reality it's really just pushing around the hot air underneath and it's cooling the underhood temps......in other words, you can route your dual snorkel or go open element, but nothing is really going to be better than the other

Ok, thanks. That (open element) was going to be my main plan. However what did you use for nostril inserts?

here is the setup you are talkin about, i purchased one for my vehicle. its 175$ shipped to your door, it comes with the 14" air breather and the piece hooking up to the holes in your ram air 2 hood.

I might think about something like if it was a lil smaller that thing is friggin huge. That thing would take up half your engine bay.

Why wouldnt you have something like that in the pic above attached to the hood so when you open the hood it will go with it because IMHO that looks really bad because im an engine guy and thats blocking the engine! It would function the same if it attached to the hood and was out of the way just an opinion i guess but its my

closest thing i've found to making my ram air functional. my whole motor is polished or chrome, so your right on the "it takes up the whole engine bay" and it sucks
