Your fav gauge cluster?
While thinking about a custom Fiberglass dash, and not knowing if i wanted to go full autometer gauges, but obviously not keep my stock gauges, I started wondering what a cluster from another car would look like in mine.
So forgetting about all the wiring involved and the obvious problems with installations....
What are some gauge clusters that you wish came in our cars...but did'nt?
Example: the new mustang cluster
If you have a custom dash / custom cluster set up, post them as well.

IMO digital gauges just dont suit our cars.....they arent.....musclely
I think thats a word......
But yeah its just more cooler to see a needle race up the gauge and easily tell your rpm.....instead of some computer quickly changing numbers.....

lol, you showed him! I like the 2nd gen Firebird guages. let's see if i can get a picture from my archives... Here we go. I'd probably just go with the 2 large ones and the 4 smaller ones to the right, and leave out all the other little switches and crap cluttering it up.

I'd love it if someone mounted an LCD monitor in the dash as an MFD. Or a digital dash made with nixie tubes.

Zepher, can you tell me where you can find those gauges? I did a search on Google using various KITT and Knight Rider combinations, did not find a site that had those gauges...

here is my set up. You can make it for less than 500 bucks. It has:
2-5" guages
4-2 3/4" guages
2-2 1/16" guages.

Lexus GS. I like the IS one better, but I couldn't find a good pic of it. To the original poster though, the Mustang dash looks much better on the computer than it does in real person. It looks cheap as hell in real life.

I like your guages dennis prolly the best...it is kinda simple but thats how i like it. I just like how the A-Pillar guages match the other guages so many cars have mis-matched clusters and it doesnt look like it flows well. I mean i understand the reasoning and most people put guages there that they need but ya you know what i mean. Some cool guages in this thread though!

Thanks Steve. I def went out of my way to make it look simple. The whole car is designed around the the "simple" appearance.
No antenna, handles, locks, moldings, emblems.... and it continues on the inside by having it all look simple, yet functional.
mw66nova.....whats the problem with my lambo door convertion?
83_Camaro_83........I don't have doors on in the pics cuz at that time i was installing the vertical hinges, not too sure why mw66nova used the or why what he said was funny.
But anywasy, if anyone wants to make their own and see what I did, check my site. I took a pic every couple steps. did it all in a about 2 days. maybe 4 hours of measuring, cutting, sanding, glueing, and cutting fabric and inlaying the guages. Pretty fun too.

ps- I had at least 2 dozen other sketches before i decided on that set up.
-speedo
-tach
-oil temp
-oil press.
-water
-fuel
-vacume
-volts

i was just pokin fun at how you seem to post all kinds of pics of your project (not pokin' fun at the project or car itself...you DO do good work) even when it's not relevant to the topic at hand...
i think that the flag is for you...but not in a bad way, just pokin at you man
i have a hard time seeing how your car is "simple" though...too many gizmos and gadgets inside...simple would be keeping everything where it was from the factory. and lamob doors are FAR from simply IMHO...

well i ment simple on the outside. As in all the stuff shaved off and such. You are right there are a lot of little things I guess. I even mounted a washer bottle in the trunk that has lines running to the rear tires. I think that if i am gonna go show off sometime it might be fun to fill with bleach silly $5 mod that might come in handy for a few laphs.
