Just got 2001 T/A seats for $350....need help installing
Just got an awsome set of 2001 Trans Am leather seats (Power driver w/lumbar and manual pass w/Lumbar)
Ive done searching but still come out a little bit unsure of things...
I did not get the wiring harness and as far as i can reach with my finger I can not find a wire behind the slit in the carpet....
Whats the best way to wire this? Is the driver the only one that needs to directly plug into the fuse box?? with the passanger pluged into it including the hoses for the lumbar??
Can anyone tell me prices on the wiring harness and the hose harness???

Both seats share the same power connection. There should be a large white plug at the end of a thick black and thick orange wire that are the connection to the car's electrical system. There should also be a harness to connect the passenger and driver seats together and then the one plug to the car. Not all cars came with the power seat hookup. I know mine didn't so I just ran a wire to the fuse block that had constant power and then a gound wire to bolt that held the bracket for the lower seatbelt retractor.

Make sure you put a fuse on that wire when you run it
25-30 amp should do the trick.

I have the same seats in mine and they came with the harness thats runs under the center console.
I have a problem with mine.
It's not a serious problem but here it goes;
the driver seat lumbar adjustment causing the passenger seat
to hum but doesn't adjust hte lumbar on either.
Everything else works fine and I just have excepted it until now.
It's not a big deal but would be nice to know what is going on.

How many wires are going to the connectors? There are two different versions... 4-wire and 6-wire. I have created my own harness for each kind.
Basically you just make a harness to run between the two seats that connects each color wires from the one seat to corresponding one on the other... then you run leads off of the orange and black drivers side wires and connect the orange one to your fuse block and the black one to a seat bolt or any other clean metal part of the body of the car.
As for the hoses... I used medical type clear hose and modified vacuum hose fittings to connect them.
I cut all of the factory connectors off... for the electrical ones I used trailor hitch harness type connectors in place of the factory ones since I was missing the middle pieces.
Hope that helps!
