Heres my steering wheel....the horn buttons arent working and its completly cracked around the rim...that cracked plastic is the actual steering wheel right?

I want to get a working horn and keep a working airbag so Im gonna probably go with a 4th gen T/A wheel....ive read it will bolt up and the airbag still will work, how is this?...

So does anyone have any 4th gen firebird steering wheel pics in a 3rd gen firebird?? ive seen alot of camaro ones.

ive got a 99 camaro steering wheel in my camaro and i can tell you that the air bag will not still function. 4th gen bags run on a totally different system than ours. its a completly different style of air bag. also whats happening to your steering wheel is common to thirdgen airbag cars. that not plastic cracking its just the air bag pad that goes over the actual airbag itself. you could just buy a new thirdgen airbag that hasnt separated.

Ive searched and others say all you have to do is retrofit the 4th gen steering column plug to the 3rd gen steering column and the Airbag light flashes 5times like its supposed to then turns off....

Ive seen that 93' and 94' V6 firebirds and 92-95 Bonnevilles have a similar style airbag to the 90-92 firebirds and they dont have audio controls.....id like to get one of these if possible...so the search begins I guess.

thirdgen air bags are a gen 1 design while 4th gens are a gen 2 style. i could be wrong but i think 4th gens are dual stage air bags two. its a lil mor complex than just changing the connector. i work in auto colision repair and ive replaced my fair share of air bags. the air bag modual, sensors, etc are all different. hope this helps.
