Car: 1984 Firebird V6
Gentlemen.. Start Your Engines...

My lovely parents ( Right.. ) have struck again. A third car down the drain.

This time though they Fcuked up my tranny in my Suburban which cost me more then a winter driver.

I am in a Technical writing class and I am writing a final comparission report on gas prices and how it affects New Mexicans. This is TG related I promise.

For this report I was going to drive the Suburban and the Firebird for a month and compare the cost of filling up each vehicle, how often I had to fill them up and the average MPG on each vehicle.

I explained this to the teacher but she didn't listen. She wants my numbers from the Firebird, which I did not do.

So what I am asking you guys for is to answer the following questions for me. If you will.

Any help I get I will greatly appriciate..

How much does it cost you to fill up your TG?

How often do you fill up your TG?

On average how many miles a day do you drive?

What is the average MPG in your TG?

Thanks so much guys!

While I am currently not driving my thirdgen, I can give you what would be accurate numbers.

Roughly $25 for 10 gallons. I never let it get too low.

Usually once a week.

50 miles a day

~25mpg depending on driving conditions.

last receipt before wreck was 9.8 gals to top off, and 209 miles since previous top off, so ~ 21.3 mpg. That was a mix of freeway/ city driving.

I got roughtly 22-23 mpg average driving roughtly 60 miles a day 5 days a week, basically like everyone else here. I had a 1992 Camaro RS 305 TBI if you needed to know.

also sometimes www.fueleconomy.gov is a good site to look this kind of stuff up.

is your car stock?

well, i'll chime in for the heavily modified croud:

roughly $28 to fill, once every 5 days.

i'll get close to 215 miles in one tank, this is highway/city mixed. roughly 15.4mpg.

if all i do is drive highway, i can get close to 22mpg, but that was with the hotrod 305...i'll be happy with 18highway with the new motor...lol!

Wow, this was actually really interesting. Everyone gets about the same MPG and drives about the same mileage I do a day.

Thanks everyone for your input it was and will be a HUGE help!
