82-84 are the same. The front turn signals are narrower and more recessed into the bumper cover that later years. The ground effects is thinner and there are vents molded in underneath the grill opening in the bumper cover.

hum yeah its right,,
damn

i compared it to pics of the 84 Z28 i had, and well its identical,

i wonder why it just looks so wrong in this particular case,

must be the crap paint job,

hmm

the car is solid jet black original all except the entire front clip anbd front part of the doors, they sprayed the front all purple and fanned it back to front third of the doors, they coated the parking light lenses too..... crappy job bad,
maybe it looks so wrong due to the tooth part of the gfx under the nose being the same color as the nose?

but no that cant be it either since oriignally it was solid black 100% everywhere

hmm.

maybe i should clean off the lenses and paint the clip gloss black again, humm

next spring,

i have a spray gun, so hmm

too bad i dont have a digicam,,

i need to ifnd one to borrow for a couple minute,

hmm..

thanks!!

Does anyone know the actual size difference between the 82-84 style and the 85-89 style? Tomorrow i'll measure my quarter panel and door trim heith. If someone with 85-89 style will measure theirs. I'll post my measurements tomorrow as soon as I get em.

I have noticed that on the 82-84 style, the Rear Bumper GFX curves inward, while the 85-89 style seems to go straight down.

If I remember correctly from what I've read here on thirdgen.org, the 82-92 standard bumper cover was the same from 82-92, except maybe in quality of design. The difference was in the lower ground effects. However, earlier models of camaro offered a second type of bumper cover that was vented, and I think this is where the differences lie if you do some research.

If I'm wrong someone correct me, but I remember a thread where they supplied pictures of the differences and this is what I seem to remember, but then this would have been a few years ago.

Ok, I have my measurements. This is off 1983 Z-28 GFX, I have measurements for everything except the rear bumper. But with what we come up with ere we should get a genera ldea for the rear bumper.

Uptop is the Left Side GFX and the lower drawing is the side View of the Left Side Rear Quarter Panel GFX.

I also have measurements for the '83 z-28 front bumper GFX.
It is:
2 1/2" Deep on the front then as it curls around to the dise of the front bumper it increases to 3 1/2".

Now, can someone measure their 85-90, and someone measure their 91-92 and we'll figure out how big the difference is once and for all. I drew my picture out so everyone would know what exactly to measure.

Is aynone going to measure their 85-90, or 91-92?

Anyways, I plan to get the bumper about midweek (when it stops raining here) and measure it up too.
