Trunk lock problem

Transmission: T5
Axle/Gears: 3.08
Trunk lock problem

hey, the other day i went to open my trunk and my key slipped in but i wasnt able to move it at all.I sprayed some lubricrant in the key hole but its still not able to move, i was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem or knows how to fix it. thanks

Mine does that sometimes too. I just move it around a little bit until I find the right spot.

Youll probably need to replace the lock

Sounds like your lock is worn out. Did you lube it twice a year like you are supposed to?

It sounds like your key is worn. I had the same problem. A local locksmith was able to make me a new key by examining the worn key and making an educated guess as to the original pattern of ridges and valleys. Of course you can also have a new one made from the dealer if you have the key code. Your easiest solution is to replace the lock and key. You can get a complete set of new door locks, trunk lock and storage compartment locks or just the trunk lock from Classic Industries.

If the lock is shot u dont need to buy a whole new set of keys, You can take the new lock down to a locksmith and they can rekey it to the key u have. no need to replace all of them.
