GM compatible seatbelt receivers?
I know that GM makes a lot of parts compatible among different models, does anyone know where I can find information to which models of cars have female seatbelt receivers which are compatible with the 85 camaro. I don't want to replace anything except the receivers, and I want to avoid the 3rd gen receivers because of all the cracking problems they have.

I have receivers out of a 2003 Cavalier in my car, the front are cavalier receivers and the original thirdgen shoulder belts. The rear I actually used the complete center rear lap belt out of 2 03 cav's to get one on each side.

Dave, ON A VERY different topic, was your car an original 350 T-top car?
So your rears do not retract?

Awesome interior Dave! And thanks so much for the info. I heard 4th Gen receivers are not a direct bolt on, and that modifications are neccessary to attach them. Are the 2003 Cavalier receivers a direct bolt on? no drilling, cutting of carpet etc?

okfoz - My car was originally a 305 TBI car. And the rear lap belts do not retract they are just adjustable lap belts, I rarely have anyone back there 99% of the time the rear seat is folded down.
ChevyMetal305 - Thanks for the compliment it makes all the hard work worth it, the Cavalier receivers were just as direct bolt in, I did not have to modify anything

my local junkyard refuses to sell seatbelt parts "for liability" if you bring them up to the counter the throw them away.
i have a set of four new buttons waiting to go in, but no tool..... i don't supose anyone knows how to change them out?

Xophertony: pages 48-55 of this PDF file have some instructions and diagrams of how to do this, but it does involve the tool.
