I think they just slide in and use the one screw at the top to hold it in place - at least that's how mine work.

Yeah, i got a new headliner and the sail panels came with it, they fit in fine once you just use that one screw at the top. I'll try to get a pic if you need proof

so the one screw at the top is the only thing holding it in and bending it to its shape? because mine come new straight and they need to be bent alittle for it to fit and that one screw doesnt seem to do that. I will try with the one screw though i hope your right.

When the screw gets tight against the frame, it bends the sail panel itself, comes out fine.

You should have clips on your old sail panel. You are susposed to take them off and put the on the new sail pannel. There should be like 4 clips near the bottom and they just slide into the square slots in the pannel...at least that is how mine are. I believe the screw at the top is for the coat hook.

Theres really no way you can get those clips in the new sail panel material unless you've got glue/tape laying around

well, they were glued on at the factory...it's not really hard to take them off the old and put them on the new.

My clips were like implanted into the sail panel then had a strip of glue going over it on one side, but that was for the fabric. Ah well, I have other things to worry about. Also it does the job since the guy who owned it before me had cut the panels to show the speakers, that right there is a call out to break into it.

yeah the clips on my sail panels were like punched into the cardboard frame and when i took one off, there is no way its going back on anything. but its ok with the single coat hanger screw it held it on nicely and it looks good. thanks for the help again guys i appreciate it greatly!

I got new ones a while back and just took the clips off my old one cut a few pcs of fiberglass and bonded the cips right back onto the new one, but i made sure if i ever needed to i could remove the clips again.. The one thing i have problems with is my head liner... seems all the slips on the front of it are broken from the previous owner trying to redo the thing. I say trying because they failed horribly... I am thinking of making a custom one from fiberglass and then bonding some nice material right to it....

I have one from an 86 Sunbird, but it doesnt line up with a damn thing, and i would have to take the headliner back out or something to get everything to work out. EF that.

the headliner i just bought cancels out the clips in the front, you just need to screw in the sun visors and it holds it up in the front.

I went to the JY for them and the wide piece of plastic trim that goes over the rear by the hatch.

Souperman, yeah the headliner hardware holds it up in the front, but the middle of the front sags down more than id like it to.

the only thing holding my my headliner is my sunvisors, dome lamp, and the rear strip of plastic. and its up there nice. doesnt sag at all. i think the reason is becasue the brand i bought was like a fiber glass shell that formed it to its shape and it keeps its shape.

Im not sure where the guy got the headliner from since it came with the car in the box when i bought the car, but the instruction sheet said something like ABS Headliner Instalation, may just be what type of headliner it is, or may just be a way of making it. As i am unaware if ABS is the company itself, or what.

Again, sorry about losing you. Hope that sorta cleared things up.
