rear seat back removal?

I've got my interior stripped down to nothing left, but the back of the rear seat is the only thing left.
How do I get that out???
I can see what looks like 2 T-30 torx screws holding it on it's pivot, but there is a metal panel about 1" from the head of the screws, such that there is no way I can get my bit on it, plus the ratchet...
Is there a trick to this?

...so, i'm the only one who's ever tried to remove his rear seat back?

Well there is a bolt underneath outside of the rear seat that needs to be removed in order to allow the seat to slide off the pivot. I used a swivel head ratchet and a 3" extension and it came off pretty easily. Just feel around underneath the seat until you feel the bolt. You may have to push the fabric out of the way.

Indeed! Thank you! I just used a 13mm wrench... Don't know how I missed that....
Thanks!

sorry, camera is away for a week here...
if you fold your rear seat half way down, then look under the pivot area, for a bolt... you'll only see the threads, and the nut, you can get the nut off and you're good to go...
(unless this is another one of those 1982 only things...)

i think i understand. it's on the outer edge (facing extirior of car, not hump) portion of the seat, what the torx head bolt threads into? i'll take a look and report back.

yep, you've got the location right. The bolt is pointing downwards, so the nut is threaded "upwards".... you'll find it...
