New Here
Been looking at most of the post and find that there is alot of knowledge here.Great site !!
A little about me.My first camaro was a 1970 rust bucket when I was 16.Kept that on the road a couple years then bought a 1981 that was rust free and my baby but due to high insurance sold her.Now 16 years later traded a free 240sx(needed work) even up for a 1985 berlineta that needs help but seems to be near rust free.I am just about done gutting the old girl so I can start fresh.Just took the dash out tonight.
You guys have some nice rides on hear

most of us start out ugly and get inspiration from the guys that have built the machines. Then as things go along you get to become the ones who's car is drooled over

Yea I know but I have time,This is going to be a surprise for my daughter when she turns 16 in 7years
I have already removed most of the interior so it didn't look that bad inside. And it does run and move but I'm going to do a rebuild on it.
I've been tinkering with bowties my hole life and I am a welder by trade and have had some body and fender training plus I am good at figureing things out.
( Jack of all trades master of none!!)
This will be fun

bet that dash was fun to remove.
I stripped one down at the local salvage yard and for some reason still have nightmares about it.
but I was lucky I had already removed the windshield ( it broke) and the steering colmn, along with the floor console, that made things a little easer but not much.
have fun, and try to remember how it all goes back. lol.

I'm from the Williamsport area and this car came from just down the road a few miles. As far as how it looks and what it will take I know but it was FREE so I don't mind and as far as the dash going back in,it might not at least not this one.I have a friend that is a good wood worker.I am thinking maybe a 3/16 or 1/4 inch thick oak, maple or ash complete dash and console.maybe?don't know yet.
