the mirror LED thing is easy... get a white LED, mines 1200mcd, and whatever resistor it needs to work on 11-14.7 volts.. run some TINY wire under the trim and to the mirror.. drill the hole for the LED light and slip it in... make the hole kinda small..(smaller then the LED) and between the hole size and how far it is from the hole, you can "focus" it to only dimly illuminate the shifter.
the resistor for the LED is on the wire, under the dash, and it connects to the gauge light power.
the other stuff is harder.. lol

all red dash- including guages, hvac, stereo, shifter plate, etc.
only things not red is turn signal and high beam indicators. since theres a colored plate for them, havent gotten around to those.
found a stock 'security' indicator that goes next to SES light, so my alarm flashes that indicator when armed, looks nice and stock instead of drilling hole for LED. of course this may be there for others anyhow..

Mine has got to be the tan 4th gen seats that match my 3rd gen tan interior, and the knee pad that is mounted to the side of the console.
I believe the knee pad was only installed on the 1984 Trans Ams with the WS6 option.
It is nice when making a hard left hander
Does anyone else have any more info on the knee pad?
I would be interested in hearing from you, as most people I talk to have no idea that this was a factory option.
Thanks,
Leon.

Scrawled Messages
Been a passanger since day 1
I dont have a picture of my last thing but it brings a tear to my eye everytime i hold it, its the old bowtie keychain from my Camaro. But with a Pontiac i cant just go around with a bowtie keychain so i made a special place for it in the glovebox and have never been happyer, jesus im a sap

At shows...one thing that people always comment on..is my roll bar. I guess they aren't that popular around here...and peoples mouth drop when they see it. Also, the leather SS seats, the white faced gauge, and some of my controls mounted on the console.

my recaro seats and 4th gen consol with booted auto shifter and b@m leather ****. radio delete panel hiding my radio radio delete interior panels. 4th gen leather rear seats(they were free, i would rather have cloth black ones) all padding removed from carpet and light weight carpet installed. stearing wheel quick release(got it cheap) and a stearing wheel that i dont really like, but i wanted a d- shaped one. and my hidden starter button....hehe its the fog light switch.

btw... i was going to start making a knee pad today. i want one that i can adjust, so ill make it out of aluminum and just cover it in some black vinel. i need one for my car, and could never find one in a junkyard. your example looks nice!
i am currently cutting my headliner to install an overhead consol i bought. i also got a adjustable distance rear view mirror im going to put in today. i hope to do something about my door panels soon. dye them or just recover them, just something. i put power door lock delete plates on the door panels too. there are some other things i cant think of.........

my super cheesy furry seat covers. the seats i bought out of an 86 TA had a small rip that got a little bigger, so until money is saved to upholster it, i bought these.
they do separate me from everyone. maybe not in a good way tho! oh yah, and my carpet out of an 85 camaro....u can see em both in the pic

no, of course not, that would be dangeresque. i mounted it there so it would be out of plain view, i dont really want my car broken into. i also have excellent periphial vision.

dont have any pics, but i have a vintage 80s car phone on the right of the center console. it still works but no company has a network that will support it so it always says its roaming. it still works to call 911 though.

1tinIndian, how does that knee pad hold on? Are there clips or screw holes in the center console? Double sided tape? I think that is totally kickass and I've never seen or heard of that until I saw the pic you posted.
Anyone know the part# for it?

It attaches with the same way the dash mounted map pocket does, with 6 plastic push rivots. I had to make a template of the pad and its rivots, then had to drill into the side of the console, then lined up the pad, and pushed the rivots into place, worked great!
Here's some more shots of the pad.
Sorry, no part numbers!
Leon.

Check out this funky color interior
This is the original interior from my 82 stocker and it is still in awesome shape. I have 1 tear in the driver’s seat but I found some cloth that matches pretty close so I am having the front seats reupholstered this weekend. I guess one thing that seperates my interior is I haven't done one thing to it. By the way, great things you all have done to your cars.

That car is tight,
I have always liked the black and yellow color. One question though, is it hard to get into your car with those bars in the way?

Yeah the yellow looks good. Any reason you went with the latch system and not the cam lock?

I've got a fabric in mine which has to be original, as all the seats, and door panels are done in it, but it's something I've never seen in another car. The car was ridden hard and put away wet, but the interior held up well (one of the things that sold me on the car, as a matter of fact!)
Its basically black with pinstripes in red, green, and blue. Very subtle, though. Will try and get a picture tonight and post an addendum.
Not really special, i guess, but was this an option on certain cars? (Mine is a white 350 TPI 1988 IROC, auto trans).
