seatbelt solution please help

okay so i got some new seats in my firebird. I'll post up pics within a few days (its a secret) but i no longer have the seatbelt guides. I need something so my seatbelt isnt in my face and neck. Its not just annoying but also unsafe . I seen something on tv a while back for an adolescent , it was sort of something you put your seatbelt in so iit gets out of your face. I was thinking of getting something like that, does anyone have any other ideas?..thanks in advance

I am not sure what would work good, but you can probably fab something up from sheet metal. Screw it in the existing gide holes.

Its a start!

i wish the seats had existing guide holes. i gave my guides from the old firebird to my buddy. I am not planning on risking these seats to screw the guide in. I need something a.s.a.p my seatbelt makes me feel safe and right now it seems like it will snap my neck if i get into an accident . Any other suggestions fellas?. I am running out of ideas. ITs not like i can squeeze the seatbelt under the headrest because its all one piece!. i feel uncool in my bird wearing my belt

Get a set of seatbelt guides from a 4th gen convertible. Mount them upside down on the wrong side (left one on the right seat...) This gives you a guide that puts the seatbelt through it from a gap in the bottom of the guide instead of having to thread it through from the bottom after removing the seatbelt from the chassis. I used them on the 92 when I replaced the seats and the seatbelt guides came apart from abuse. Should cost less than $10 new.

um im not sure that would help me out. Im going to take a picture of my seat so you guys can see. the seats i have in now never had a seatbelt guide they came off of a blazer. Therefore the seatbelt must of been on the pillar behind the front door. i do not want to drill a hole through the seat, even though i can feel a rail in there. I'd hate to mess it up

Sounds like you have three options to pinning it under the headrest.

1. Put holes in the seat for seatbelt guides.
2. Find a way to lower the attachment point for the upper part of the seatbelt. Either lower the entire unit onto the side wall of the rear seat to change the angle to the belt latch in the center. 3. Find a way to connect a belt guide to the wall of the car to keep it lower and angled where you want it.

The easiest option will be to put the holes in the seat and put the guides there.

ah man i know there is no possible way now. I need to think of a way to make it more comfortable. I kjnow if i tangle up the bottom part of my seatbelt it will push the belt more to my shoulder and out of my neck. For example if u twist the seatbelt and have it get tangled at the bottom. ima start doing that until i run into something i can use that goes on the actual seatbelt

Can't you pull the belt out a bit at the top and have it hang loose? Mine will do this, just pull it out untill it starts clicking and let it back in, then pull out to where you want it. I redid my seats and didn't put the guides back in, but no real problem with the belts even so.

i know what you mean about pulling the belt so its loose, my belts dont do that. Your belts may be a little worn out. My friends 86 camaro does that . I find that not safe. i think im going to go with the child seat belt guide. Its for children over 50 lbs
