Ground Effects Pushed Out

I used a regular jack to lift my car the other day, and I felt the car kinda "slip" a little when I was lifting it. At the time I didn't think anything of it, but when I was washing my car today, I noticed that I now have a Slight gap between my passenger door and the ground effects/ front quater. When I looked under the car, the little tab thing where you're supposed to lift the car from, bent and now sits flat pointing out towards the quater. I can't see what's above it, but if I bend this back out, do you think the fender and quater will shift back in, or is there stuff higher up that may have been effected too? It's not really a big deal, nothing's rubbing or anything, it's just I don't like the new little 3/4" gap back towards the door.

Your not supposed to jack there at all.. I think the stock jack can work there, but I've still seen stock jacks bend the tab.. Bending it back should get it pretty close.

alright, it's good to hear that bending it back should help it, but exactly where are you supposed to jack it from?

i jack my car up using the k-member, rear differential, or sub-frame connectors work also. I bent my tab one using the stock jack in the jacking location according to the instructions but not bad enough to push out of my GFX

The privious owner of ym car jacked it up with a regular floor jack in that location and flattened both side, and pushed up the fenders. Just last week, doing body work and preping for the paint, i straightened back out and the fender popped back

on my passenger side fender stuck out about 3/4 on an inch, bening the tab made it about less than a 1/4 inch...not perfect but a hell of a lot better than it was.

If it's bent onto the head of the bolt, you can use a wrench and back the bolt out. Since the head can't go into the body, it will force the tab down enough to get some lock pliers on.

If it's bent on the back side of the bolt, it can't be that flat against the body. You should be able to get a screw driver or pry bar in there enough to get some lock pliers on.

Once you get the pliers on (get the ones that have a large clamping area), you should just be able to pull it where it needs to go.
