Help, Steering wheel "sweats" black dye
I did a search and found nothing on this. My 87 IROC leather steering wheel has started oozing black crap, dye looking stuff from the stitched seams. The crap gets all over your hands and on anything else that touches it. It seems to be coming out from the stitching so it could be the adhesive they used when wrapping the wheel. I am the original owner of the car so I know the wheel is entirely original. It has only had leather conditioner put on it and that was a somewhat rare occurance. Has anyone else had this problem? Can it be stopped?

Yea, mine does the same thing, its been doing it for years and I don't think it'll ever stop untill the whole steering wheel has melted away. I plan on just getting a refurbished one.
I blame the AZ sun.

He charges 160 dollars to restore your steering wheel. I had mine done and it couldn't look any better.
