racing seats/seat belt q&a/opinions
i was thinking about going to racing style front buckets with the 5 point harness.
do they make seats where the harness is built into the seat?
what is the proper way to mount the harness?
i have heard a bar has to be run or something like that?
what have you guys done?
any suggestions for mounting the harness?
or maybe suggest an alternative to the harness for me?
i really want to ditch the factory seatbelt setup and go to something else.

I bought a set of two "Eurolight" seats off of Ebay for 199$ adn 175$ to ship. Then I bought G-Force Racing 5 point cam and latch link harnesses. I don't believe that any seats come with biult in harnesses but I'm sure that I could be mistaken. To only right way, ie. safest most reliable way is to have the harnesses attached to a bar behind you. I have an 8 point roll cage so it didn't matter to me, but you need a bar. If you mount it to the floor pan and wreck, when you move forward you will put tension on your spine and compress or crush it, or so i have been told. So you pretty much have to have some kind of horizontal bar behind you. It depends on your hight, becasue the angle from the shoulder belts once they cross over the seat and then down to the bar can't be more than like 15%, or something like that. i'll see if i can find it tommorrow and get that number back to you. It is vitally important that it is right.
