ground fx 1983 1987 camaro
alright, i did some searching, couldn't find much information, so i thought i'd post. I'm thinking i wasn't searching for the rigth info, but if someone could give me a quick answer. A friend needs to swap front clips on his 83 Z28, he found a 87 Z28 in the yards, will everything swap over and bolt up, if things won't bolt up right, where are the trouble spots...thanks.

My 89 bird accepted an 82 ta bumper no problem. I think the main thing is if it lines up with your ground effects. The bodies are the same, and I belive any camaro part could be interchanged. Now, camaro bumper wont fit on firebird. Its a bit wider, at least on my bird. So I guess you just have to take the clip and try to eye it or take measurements. Eying should do the trick.
Good luck.
P.S. If the front clip aint much I wouldnt worry about the fit.

the 82-84 camaro noses are slimmer, and sharper angled than the 85-92 noses.
The ground effects wont even begin to look correct. There's a 82 Camaro in the junkyard close to my house, PM me if you want me to grab it for you?

ANY 82-92 Z28 nose are interchangeable. BUT, the ground effects. Only the 85-92 ground effects will accept the 85-92 nose and only the 82-84 ground effects will accept the 82-84 nose. You can not put an 85 front ground effect on an 84 nose.
