Car: '88 Red Trans Am w/ T-tops
Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: T-5
Fiberglass cloth Vs. Fiberglass mat

So what is the difference and which would be better for repairing my headliner backer?

I'm pretty sure it's the same thing. It's a white piece of cloth that is made of interwoven fiberglass fibers... looks kinda like carbon fiber.

Engine: 2.8L MPFI (rebuilt)
Transmission: 700R4 swapped to T5
Axle/Gears: 3.42 open
Cloth is woven, that is what I would use.

Mat isn't, mostly used for building thickness, not for strength.(photo)
