Painting cost?

I was just wondering if someone could let me know how much a decent paint job (black in color) is going for and a general idea of what kinda price body work (pulling a couple minor dents and a small line out of the door) is going for? I am no where even close to a body man and was just curious if anyone knows kinda what bodyshops charge in a general idea?

Finding a body shop that is fairly fast, does a good job, and is reasonably priced is very difficult...almost impossible. I would go to some local car shows or race track ask people who painted their cars to find out who is good in your area. In general you get what you pay for when it comes to paint and body work. In my area I would expect to pay $2500-$3500 for a good quality paint job including a small amout of body work. If you want something custom or show quality..expect more $4000+.

Mines being painted right now, 2900$ for paint and body, plus I bought and delivered to the guy about 800$ in parts (new bumper, door, door hinge repair kits).

When it's all said and done I'll probably have spent 4000$...worth every penny.

Until the first day you leave it alone in a parking lot and come out to some scuffed up paint, then you flip out and go crazy cos you just lost like $500 (the price it will cost to have it fixed) hahaha... sorry :P
bad paint is underrated, you never have to worry about it :P

im getting mine done at maaco.. only 1300 here... its a good job. i seen abotu 50 of the cars they ahve done and 10 of them have been a couple years old that had to come back becouse thy were wrecked. the paint wasnt faded or chipped or peeled or anything... If you want a nice quality budget job maaco is the place. People who have crappy jobs form maaco only pay the 200 buck minimum which any one hwo knows anythign knows that paint costs more.. ill post some pics when i get it back next week
