I'm eventually going to make a vinyl headliner, so it's pretty much the same thing. I plan to remove the fabric and glass over it, then put a thin layer of foam between there and the vinyl and use 3M 90 adhesive to stick it together, with some hot glue to tack it to the back. Just use a heat gun or hair dryer or leave it in the sunlight and it will become more pliable.

I did the vinyl headliner thing, it is not as easy as it seems. I made the headliner, that was the easy part, installing it and getting it to stay in place is very diffucult. I gave up on it. Once you put the foam, vinyl and 'glass on the headliner, it becomes heavy. It was too heavy for my stock clips and I couldn't find a way to affix it.
