Outside Door weather Felt

i want to replace the outside door modling/felting by the window on door (not door weather stripping)

what's the best way to go about this?
does the inner door panel have to come off?
i believe there are like 5- screws holding this in.

if i pry around i can get the screws out, but putting them back in, that's where i'm wondering if the whole panel has to come off.

this is on a 88 formula firebird

also i think the little balck vent type window would need to be removed to gain access to the one screw that holds this weather stripping in.

they are dry rotted and i picked up some new GM pieces on ebay.

now the challange is to get them in......

any ideas?

i did mine when i got my car painted. its pretty simple to do. the door pannel does have to come off. along with the morror and black triangle filler piece. to do this some say take the window out but i was able to move the spacers on the top of the door and push the window out of the way. i believe there are nine screws holding it it. there are two bolts holding in the triangle filler by the mirror. this does not have to be completly removed just slid out of the way. if you have anyother questions feel free to pm me ill try to help as best i can.

ok thanks
i had a feeling they had to come out

on my 79 TA i was able to fiddle with the door panel on, but this cars setup is slightly different.

next Q:
where is a good place to get a decent set of door panels from?
i'd prefer to get a complete panel.
any suggestions?

the ones on there now are ok, figured if i go this far, might as well replace them, if i can find them in black, along with the power door lock switch.

heres the deal on door pannels. you could find some real nice ones used for pretty good deals. otherwise checkout hawks they have really good ones. the power door lock part gets reused from your existing door pannels. theres that plastic pannel that the lock switch is in that has to come off to get the door pannel off. then that goes back on your new door pannel.
