gauges swap

ok well my car has the base model gauges...some of you might know the ones i mean

the 2 bigs ones are the speedo and the other one is just my gas tank
then the 3 little ones are just red lights...
i would like to change it to the Z ones..the ones with the speedo, tach, oil, gas, battery

besides just taking the old ones out and putting the new ones in..what else is there..like wiring? i heard you need sensors for stuff

Check the speedo face (about halfway down) in the following link and you see that both mph and kph are marked. By the way, perhaps you should hit the bone yards in Canada. I actually shipped a 240 kph up there once. Perhaps you could locate one.

Not bad at all especially if you practice on an old speedo first.

I thought you might post this soon enough Couldnt you just goto the junkyard, get a whole cluster, and pop it in? should it be all the same with that plastic wiring in the back??

crap dude, I guess i didnt read everything through. i was just wondering.....

You must have sensors in there already right..? Im not to farmiliar with your type of gauges. The only problem I can see you having is for the tach....Is that what you mean by a sensor? Cause then I have no clue. But all the others should just be like....plug in right? Or are your gauges TOTALY different?

now im confused

EDIT: now i remember what you mean by the plugs at the back, I dont know, but would it be bad to just try it? or is that risking it? But yeah, how are you going to get around the tach?

well i read the link that james c posted but afew things they dont say....suposity the tach is already wired up i just need to plug it in.....and ya i think i may just get the plugs tomorrow and try anyways

well from what its say when you switch from the idiot lights to the needles gauges for the volts, temp, and oil you need to get a new oil pressure unit and water temperature unit..sorry i kept saying sensors
