Heavy Duty Hood Shocks?

Do they make them and if so, where can I get some from?

I wish I could just get a pair of hood shocks. I've visited over 6 AutoZones/Advanced Auto Parts and they don't have any. My hood is like 50 pounds and I have to hold it up with a block of wood. Same with my hatch. How do they go out in the first place anyways?

I find brand are better than others. Exactly though what Kevin says, sometime i get a pair and they give out in a matter of weeks. I've also found that weather does take into account on them. I find in colder places mine tend to give out sooner.

But no ideas where they might have some or if they even make them at all?
