bose kick panels

I just picked a bunch of parts for my car and the guy threw in a set of factory bose kick panels. i have already recovered them and was wondering how to go about installing them, those of you who have them know about the connectors they have, what do i have to do to hook them to my cd player?

thanks

The bose speakers have their own built in amps. They will only work with the bose system. If you take apart the kick panel you will see the amp.Ive got those kick panels on my car without the amps.I just used aftermarket speakers & amps.

Depends on how bad you want/need that bose system & how much he wants for the rest of it.For the same money though i think you can do better with aftermarket. The bose system runs on 1ohm.So you cant use aftermarket amps with it.If you want to keep the kick panels.Just open them & remove the amp. Then just plug your speaker wires in the bose speakers. There is not much room for aftermarket speakers in the kick panel either.Especially the Dr side.I have a 4in alpine speaker on my passenger side panel, but i still use the bose speaker on the Dr side.Thats with a MTX 200w amp,set-up on 2ohm,running both the 4x6s & the kick panels.I dont have a pic of my kick panels. The bose speakers also have a 3 point mounting pattern. Most speakers have 4 mounting holes. So its difficult to mount aftermarket speakers. If your not using too much amp or just running the speakers of the deck unit you can keep using the bose speakers.I havent blown that little bose speaker after some 5 years of running it with that MTX amp.Just dont over power the speakers & you should be O.K.

i have a convertible so i dont know if it would even fit. I'm not looking to buy the entire setup w/o a cd player. just wanted to know how to get the speakers to work with my cd player i have in the car. I have a 200w kenwood amp im not using, can i hook that up to my dash 4x6's and the bose speakers? will it also run my 6.5" in my back seats? do i just run all the speakers to my amp and then run the amp to my stereo? anyone have a diagram to show me how to wire them up? my 4x6's and my 6.5" are brand new, i havent been able to drive the car since i've put all of my new stuff in.

If you know how to hook up the amp.Just do it that way.I ran the RCA lines from the deck unit to the amp. Then wired the amp to the 4x6s.From the 4x6s i ran speakers wire to the kick panel speakers(provided your amp is 2ohm stable you can do this). If not then try a 4 channnel amp.Just watch the gain you apply to those bose speakers.I DONT know what they are rated at.So dont over power them.

do i just want to seperate the wires from the connector and run them to my amp? or run them to my other speakers first and then to my amp? (like 84 1le said) does that lessen the power to the speakers haveing more running off of the same power? is it safe to run them directly to my amp? i'm going to be running my 6.5"s my 4x6"s and my kick panels to the amp.

Use Aftermarket Speaker wires, not the factory harness.Larger gauge will lower the resistance. You can ONLY hook two speakers to ONE channel if your amp is 2ohm stable. If if cant handle 2ohm,then its ONLY 4ohm stable.Your other option is a 4 channel amp or(6 channel if you want 1 amp running all your speakers).I used RCA cables from the deck unit to my 2 amps(1 two channel amp for subs-1 four ch amp for the 6x9s @ 4ohms & 4x6+kick panels @ 2 ohms),then used speaker wires from the amps to the speakers.BTW,the purpose of running your amp at 2ohms(if it can)is beacuse it almost doubles the output of the amp.So a 200 watt amp @ 4ohms will put out almost double that at 2ohms.

If i can find it, i dont know where i put it

will that work? what speakers should i hook up to it?

Thats sound like a good amp to me.You can hook it up to any speakers you want. You can try going with the Rr speakers @ 4 ohms or hook it to the 4x6 & kick panels @ 2 ohms.Which ever you need the most ?

i wired the amp up to see how it would sound to the rear speakers, not too bad. i havent had it hooked to the front yet. i still need to take apart my kick panels and rewire the speakers. my car has no existing wires for them so i'm going to have to run wires to them, do i want to run the wires from my amp to the bose speakers. I've read in other posts not to run them to my deck directly. is that correct?

From what i've gathered, i want to run speaker wire from my amp to my 4x6"S in the dash, and run more speaker wire directly from the 4x6"s to the kick panels, is that to make it 2ohms? or am i misdsing something? My amp has a left and right input speaker level and on the other side output for right and left speakers and the option to bridge them. I'm just about done, thanks for all the help. in the near future i'm going to add a subwoofer in the trunk and probily another amp.

I just got my rear speaker panels done and renstalled tonight. Its tough working on a convertible, not many parts are easy to find if you mess something up.

could you tell me the best place to run my power wire through the firewall? i have it comming through the door jam next to the windshield for now, just to see if it was going to work.

Yes 4x6 then to bose will put the amp in 2ohm mode.Watch your pos/neg connections & remember not to turn the gain too high.As i said before i DONT know what the bose speakers are rated at.So start w ith the gain low

I ran mine right by the antena(remove the underdash cover & kick panel).Drill a small hole(1/8 - 3/16).Use a grommet & pass the wire/s thru.Remove the plastic cover on the inside of the fender(removing wheel first helps). You should see the antena cable/wire.Run the wire high, just under the top of fender.Right up to the opening next to the battery & your there.
