Undercoat or POR-15?

So my rearend is out, and I was under the car and noticed the whole underside is covered in dried mud (PO had a gravel driveway). I wiped some off, and there is absolutely NO undercoating or anything on the underside of my GTA. This is a 65k car, and has zero rust. SO I am thinking I should do something to preserve it, but am torn between undercoating it, or using the POR-15 I have. I thought brushing on the POR would be less messy, but surely more time consuming. Just wanted some input from what others may have done. Did these cars just not come undercoated or what? Kinda a stupid thread, but was curious. Thanks.

Terry

What im planning to do to my next project is getting ome por15 and then masking the crap out of anything vital underneath my car giving it a light blasting and then using a spray gun coating the crap out of it with por 15. por 15 is really tough stuff and its even tougher to come off when you are using it on a blasted surface.

do POR-15. I've owned 2 camaros with undercoating and they both managed to rust underneath. I just bought a camaro with undercoating and i chipped away at it and found rust. It seems like that undercoating traps moisture over the years. So I'm chipping away all that junk and using POR-15.

If you saw tha store around here you would wonder if they had oil. Living in the sticks definitely has its draw backs but I WILL find some of that stuff.
