im lookin to replace my old tan seat belts in my 85 to match my new black interior. are there any good aftermarket seat belts made that can be installed with little modification? otherwise i guess i will have to go with used ones, maybe 4th gen.

Im in your exact situation, I am buying a mostly black/charcoal interior and Im trying to figure out what to do with my stained gray steat belts. Let me know what you do.

i tried getting a black set from the junkyard today, but stripped a couple of the torx. they're nearly impossible to get out w/out an impact.

i personally thought about not putting any back in my project car. i KNOW i aint putting any back in for the backseats cuz who can fit there,kinda pointless to have them in if no one rides there. who knows i might just stick with my original idea with not putting any back in

Im painting mine, its final. I tested some Krylon Fusion paint using many different teqniques and gave it a few tests and its was very good. I stuck a hand torch to it and it didnt even get gooey, the plastic melted got soft before the paint did. I tried satin and gloss and there close but I like satin more. I tried different cleaners, denatured alcohol just causes some fisheying but paint thinner on a rag did just fine.

Just be aware that the 90+ newer cars used rear shoulder belts too. In order for them to work on the 89 and older cars, you will need new rear plastics with the shoulder harness provisions cut into them.
