Ram Air 2 Hood
Hey guys,
Update on my accident..I plan on getting the car to the shop shortly. I have decided to buy a RA2 hood. I just need some pics. First, i want a pic of the hood as seen from inside the car..Also, If anyone has pics of the hood with a 86 t/a spoiler.Preferably the black one but if its painted, so be it. Thnx in advance,
-Adam

Those vents in the back are stock on the ASCD hood. The Ram Air Hoods one only has a couple of holes in the back.

is their anyway we can talk you out of the ram air 2 hood, i dont think it will look good on your car. What about the ram air 1 or a cowl hood , or just the stock ta hood.

It was a tough decision on weather to get RA1 or RA2. Still sketchy but most likey a RA2... the main reason being i think it looks mean as hell and im in a way copying my dad 01 t/a and i thought it would look sweet together. Anyway, as per my last few posts you guys realized that the car will be goin into the shop.... Shoudl i have them order the hood? id rather do that since its one bill.. As far as fitment goes, ill let the shop tinker with it. Anyway, Thnx for the pics, more are always welcome, if someone could possibly show me the underside as well, that would be sweet. And does someone have pic like the last one but with a front plate?i kno its a stupid request buti still might put the plate on when the car is finished

Im not familar with Ram Air for a 4bbl.
How much horsepower could be gained with
a ram air hood or cowl induction? or both I guess.
thanks

Really "RAM AIR" is just a term dreamed up by the marketing people years ago on the 70's ram air trans ams
The benifits comes from the cooler outside air vs. under hood hot air. Now at speeds well past 100 mph you may get some benifits of "ram air"
but in gen air temp is worth 1% power for every 10*
Say like under hood air is 185* and its an 85* day out side. If you are taking in the air from outside (85*) thats a 100* diff.
Thats 10% gain in power
200 hp = 20 hp gain
300 hp = 30 hp gain
400 hp = 40 hp gain
You get the idea..
Now this only works if it's a true sealed cold air intake, so you block all under hood air from getting into the carb.. Only air the carb can suck in, is the outside of engine bay cooler air
