Tallest Thirdgen Owner...
I thought this would be an interesting topic...
I'm just over 6'3" and each time I get into my Z28 I am reminded of this fact. I have to have my seat all the way back in order to keep my knees out of the dash and on a good recline in order to prevent any ugly encounters with my headliner. Needless to say, having a fourth passenger in my car is almost out of the question. Putting in fourth gen leather seats has helped a little since they sit a bit lower, but not a whole lot.
I'm sure there are other thirdgen owners out there who are just as tall or taller. Post up and claim the title as world tallest thirdgen owner!!!
Also, did your height have any effect on your choice in getting a thirdgen?

6' 5" here. I put the seat back all the way and recline it just a hair. Only problem I have ran into is if Iam first in line at a stop light i either have to duck down to look at the light or look over the windshield becuse its a convertible. Also the far left side next to the brake pedal is the perfect resting place for my size 16 shoes.

i know what you mean. i'm just under 6'6" and my head liner was sagging pretty bad, so i ripped it out. my seat in my 88 bird is slid all the way back, reclined pretty freaken far, and i also have a tilt that i use regularly. i love my third gen though....when i was looking for a car, i wanted a 2nd gen, but after sitting in some third gens, i just liked the feel. i don't think that i'll ever get rid of it.

I'm "only" (LOL!) about 6'1", but yeah, the thirdgen seats didn't fit me very comfortably so I stuck in 4th gen seats. I like how low they are, and it lets me recline pretty far and also supports my legs during long drives.
Of course, the only kind of person who could hope to sit behind me (at least when I get the back seats put back in) would be a six-year-old.
Cmeb4ubuy, I know what you mean about stop lights. More annoying is when the main light is blocked by the top of the window and the side light is blocked by an A-pillar...

I'm also around 6'5. Actually I sat in a few different cars, before I realized that f-bodies have great leg room in them. Everyone always comments about how they can not believe I can drive a sports car due to the height.
Another nice point is I can look through the sun reflector tint on the windshield going down the highway if the sun is in my eyes. (I wear glasses so I can just put on a pair of sunglasses.)
One major thing that I can think of if you plan in installing a roll bar or cage make sure to reallocate the main hoop from the floor onto the platform where the back seats go. If you do not you will not beable to get your seats to go all the way back, because of the crossmember hitting the backrest.

Had to laugh when i saw this thread. I'm 6'6. Don't really have any problems driving car, its just the getting in and out part. I have the seat back all the way, and the cushion tilted up slightly(optima seats) back seat is out of the question. The only thing i have trouble with is going from my Grand Prix, which has plenty of room, to the TA.

6'3", seat all the way back and tilted a bit. Really sucks driving the car with a helmet on, keep hitting the t-top Really need some seats that sit on the floor to get as much headroom as I can.

Theres alot of tall people on this board im 6'2" and i also sit with the seat all the way back and its pretty compfy didnt have too much more room tho. It seems the seats in other cars seem to go back farther but since i got my sparcos i made it so they can go way back.

I'm 6'2" and I think that the head and leg room of my Firebird is suprisingly good. I don't even have to put my seat all the way back. Maybe head room is a bit more because of the T-Tops.

6'2" here and I used to hit my head on the ttops from some of the bumps around here..... and yeah man I totally hear you about that stoplight thing!! haha.. its like that in every car im in...
alot of times i drive underneath it and look thru the ttops at it :P
you get used to it, and i actually had 4 people in my car, and it wasnt that bad... but you really have to have the seat way back or my knees hit that wonderfully rectangular shaped dash peice
also i only have a 13" wheel, im sure that helps too

Ive noticed that the drivers power seat frame sits higher up than the manual seat frame. At least for my 6'7 frame. So needless to say I have the manual seat in my ride, plus its a lot lighter.

6'5" Here. Yeah, in and out is an olympic event. But once inside, it ain't that bad. Like I told everyone, I don't like open airy cars, I want to feel enclosed. Of couse, it's also nice to be able to pop the t-top off and put your head up through while driving :-p Did that once in a development going 15 MPH, it was fun. Seats all the way back and partly reclined. Anyone else think about relocating the blinker so your knee doesn't hit it all the time?

I'm 6'2" and fit fine with the seat all the way back and a little reclined. Getting in is more of a pain than getting out. I can't imagine how hard it would be without a tilt wheel! I think I fit better in my '88 bird with ttops than the Camaro I currently have.

the other thing is that sometimes I do find myself looking at the light through the T-Tops or having to bend down to catch it...

im 6'4'' and i cant wear a hat in it, the driving posistion that i have is good, all the way back and reclined pretty far, but if i hunch up a little bit and wearing a hat and go over a bump, that little button on top of a ball cap goes into my skull, funny and painfull at the same, but im dumping the stock seats and gettin some buckets that ill drop on the floor so i can see through the winshield, and not have to be hunched over or stick my head out da window to look at lights.

I'm 5 foot 9 and I have plenty of room for ME in the car. But when I need to load the car, and someone has to be directly behind me I have to push the seat all the way forward, and have it straight up and down... I feel like a grandpa then.... or a image of a 7 foot man riding a little girl's pink tricycle comes to mind.
I dont know how you 6+ footers do it w/ other people in the car.

Yea, seat all the way back, reclined just a hair. When i was shopping for cars i was surprised at just how many i couldnt fit in. I went to test drive a Mitsubishi eclipse one day (yea before i decided on my maro) sat down, stood right back up, it was like curling up into a ball just to fit in the car. love the leg room though, car's got more interior room than my buddys caviler, and thats a 4 door!

Thanks for all the replies to the thread guys.
Lol, I had completely forgotten how I used to look through the T-tops of my 90 RS to see if the stoplight had turned green. Good Times... Now I have to crouch down and peer out the windshield.
Awesome!! There are some basketball fans here. I'm extremely athletic, from baseball (my #1 sport) to martial arts and everything in between, and can easily put one over the top of the rim.

thats good to know that the 4th gen seats are a little lower. I am 6'3" and I finaly cracked the corner of my dash pad the other day after having the car for 2 years. I wasn't really paying attention and slamed into it with my knee when I got in.
