In fact, I had to leave a JV basketball game once due to a cut on my arm that I got from one of the rim hooks that hold the net on... One of those hooks dug into my arm about an inch below my elbow (to let you know how high above the rim I was) and scraped all the way down to my wrist! Not very deep, thank the big G above, but the length of the cut and the fact that I got it from a questionable soure of metal made it a medical emergency. Ambulance, stop the game, the whole bit!
Now, I'm 6'4" and 220 pounds of 33 year old muscle. I don't like the stock 3rd gen legroom or headroom one bit. This summer, those things are getting hacked down to size and repositioned!!! Bones are getting older and don't like that slide into the TA cockpit much. My old 70 vette had more room than this thing, but I still love the TA to much to ditch it!

Yeah, its mostly in hops ,you dont necessarly need to be tall to slam dunk.Look at Spud webb who played for the atlanta Hawks in the 80s and he was 5foot 3 and he could throw it down with authority!
I cant slam dunk but can bust out with some And 1 Sh*t on all yall

I think that quite possibly the worst thing for me is when I have to dig for my wallet at drivethrough windows. I'm either forced to push up off the seat and deal with the roof or slide one of my knees underneath the wheel and towards the door.

6' 5" with a 36 in seam, I have most all my height in my legs and im looking for some new tracks to set my seats back further, I have fiero seats and those tracks do sit quite a bit lower but I had to remove the fireo track from the driver side because I wanted it to tilt back a little on the seat end with the firebird stock sliders. I just need to make some new ones lol. But it gets a little tight in there with the seats all the way back and reclined for me. But no other car I have driven has had as much room as 3rd gen for tall drivers.

I'm just under 6'5" last time i checked, i have the seat back all the way and the seat reclined a tad, for clearance and that low cruisin look, dont have headliner issues, do have to kinda lean back to see stop lights since i have teh brow tint, although it does help being tall when you have a sky scraper on your hood

t tops man t tops, they add a few inches of head room. but I still hit my head on the front and sides of the roof . And I know what you guys are talking about how you can't see the stop light when your the first one there. or having the trouble of not being able to see the speedo if you have someone sitting behind you and you have to reclin the seat forward a bit lol. I can usualy see all of it if I lean down just a bit while driving in my normal getto lean driving possition.

Actually, the two rear seatbacks are almost always folded down in mine, so it's more like a two-seater. I actually had more leg and head room in my Fieros (there's a ton of leg room in those!), but shoulder space was a different story altogether.

im 5'9" but still like the seat just about all the way back. can't imagine having to have my knees in the dash if i was 6'6" or something. i think the thirdgens have decent leg room, better than some sedans. The previous owner of my friend's IROC was 6 something and took the rear view mirror out to get it out if his way, and had hairgel marks on the drivers side ttop.

Im 6"2 and fit just fine with the seat all the way back and a little tilted. Dont have to worry about back seat passengers i took them out so people would quit asking. One thing that always bugs me is when someone else gets in the passenger seat and moves it forward and the next time i drive the seats dont match because one is further forward so then i have to lean over and retract the seat all the way back so they match.

^Same with me
I don't see why you would even move your seat forward when you're not driving either... There is no point.

I am 6'2" and I can't put the seat all the way back on my Formula. But the issue that I run into is shifting the thing. I have a size 13 foot and it gets stuck sometimes when shifting gears. It gets annoying. I am ready to cut a piece out from under the dash to see if that works better.

well, im slightly biased.. less than a year ago my gf got into 5 wrecks in less than a year... one of them being a rolled 87 SC... Tho, she didnt do anything wrong, engine died, couldnt steer it, went up the side of the hill and rolled over.. at like 7 mph.. lol
So she isnt allowed to even move it into the driveway.. lol
And im deleting the backseats... I had to drive a bunch of ppl to a concert last year.. I'm 6'2" and i have it all the way back, slightly tilted... my knees were in my ears.. **** if im doing that again
Rabbitt
BTW, she just bought another 87 SC, in pretty good shape (Texas car, no rust)... i told her that if she somehow feels that she cant handle it, its getting sold.. I dont think i could take seeing her wreck another Camaro.. a firebird, i could live through , but not another camaro

Tall isnt always good. When I'm wearing a Helmet in the car it rubs on the headliner pretty bad, sometimes I gotta keep my head crooked. Not cool while sliding around at 40-50 mph hahaha

geez!!! how in the hell did everybody get so tall!!!..im 5'5 and i fit perfect with my seat almost all the way foward..but then again im a female its supposed to be like that

just went to the doctors the other day and found out that I am 6'4 now
You know, I'm starting to think I'm 6'4" as well. I haven't had my height measured in a little over a year and everyone who hasn't seen me in a while tells me "Man your getting tall."

Don't feel bad. Your the tallest female f-body owner to post here yet. Besides, there are a lot of girls out there who are only 5'5' and are very hot.

Own a 91 GTA, 91 Formula and a 89 Turbo TransAM.
GTA style seats suck in thirdgens, they have the least headroom and legroom and worst seating position for tall drivers.
I'm leaving the TTA seats alone and will get them redone(its a toy/cruiser only).
I replaced the seats in my Formula with newer 4th gen Camaro seats and am keeping the old base seats to redo and swap out for the GTA.
My girlfriend is 6' tall also. She likes my cars.

I'm 7 Foot 4 inches tall, and weigh 270lbs, I have a 38 inch inseam and a size 17 shoe. I fit great in my 85 Iroc-Z. I just have to lean down and look under the rear view mirror to see the stoplights. I will post pics of me standing next to my IROC so everyone can see how tall I actually am. My wife has a 83 TA and shes 5'7" tall and she fits in there great. Will post pics tomorrow after work

6'5"....I fit into my car comfortably, but my legs are so long, I am kinda folded up and my knee rests on the centre console while i work the pedals. Getting into the car isn't a huge problem...but usally to get out i have to throw my elbow onto the roof of the car and pull myself out. And in combination with trying to keep the large doors away from the car next to me, it can get interesting sometimes I loved the car since being a kid, and didn't care abou the fit. Though it is hard for me to get people riding in the back with my seat all the way back.

Well im 6'2" and have GTA powered racing seats in my 88 Trans Am. The passenger side is the worst for leg room just because of how the floor is and lack of tilt on the whole seat. But the 8 way adjustable drivers seat is perfect. Seat goes all the way back, head rest fully extended, seat tilted back(not the back, but the whole seat) and the center leg support down a little bit and its the most comfortable seat ive ever been in especially when the side support gives you a nice hug.
Other than that, I have minor problems when getting into a tight parking space because of the door, kinda have to contort myself and twist totally around to get my feet on the ground.

well i made a neat discovery, I had to put my fiero seat track back on the fiero seats because the firebird one broke again and I didn't want to fix it again, and I found that if I remove the heavy spring and lube up the tracks you can force it back an extra inch and there is a hole there to lock it in, now I have plenty of room and the seat is about 3 inches lower
and the seat track is now locked all the way back because I have a passanger seat on the drivers side lol so now no one under like 6'2" can drive the car lol

Man we are a tall bunch. I'm 6'4" and with a 36" inseam my height's in my legs so F-bodies fit perfect with the seat all the way back...just hard to get in an out...my knees nearly hit my chin I'm down so low :-)
Now my Dakota quad cab sucks! I want to lower the seats on that thing some how...
I jump like a white boy. I can get the rim but can't dunk...what a shame. I'm 30 now and 190 lbs and jump just as high as I did in high school...so at least I have that ;-)

The stock fabric on my car seats is starting to wear and tear where I slide on it when I get in. I guess if I am wearing jeans or whatever, I catches the seams. It sucks.

Im a shade under 6' 6" and about 320lbs. I put my seat all the way back and recline it back a good ways. MY feet fit great, my right knee on the center console and left foot beside the break. Getting in i have to do a squat and then slide sideways unless my t tops are off. overall fit great

Ok, I'm not overall too tall (5'10") but I have a long back and short legs. So when I was looking for a 3rdgen, I knew it would have to be a T-top or vert car.
I have a vert now so all is good but when I have to occasionally put the top up, I am afraid I'll rub a hole through it soon with my head.
It's not fun going over speedbumps or potholes!!!

I'm 6'4 200 lbs seat all the way back and reclined a lil bit ( I have long arms) Thridgens are one of the few cars that I fit in very nicely.
BTW after driving every generation of F-body, thirdgens have the most room.

i am 8 and a half foot tall and no you cant see a picture. no seriously im 6' 1" and have no problems in my bird. and i finally match the claim on my drivers license. ( i was 5' 10" when i got it but said 6' 1" so that i was taller than my 6' foot tall brother who is 5'9")
