Headlight Motor Help

Anyone have a clue as to why when I turn on the headlights on my 1988 Trans Am, the motor spins but the headlights do not pop up?

I have turn the ***** by the headlights and still can not get them up. I looked all around the headlight housing and do not see anywhere it would be binding or stuck on some part of the body.

Top Down solutions repair kit did the job and happy to say both motors are working great.

Thanks All

Usually the plastic bearings get fubar'ed I fixed both mine for <$15. You'll have to remove the motors and take them apart. It's not too difficult, maneuvering the motors out of there was a pain in the ****. Overall it took me approx 3 hrs total. Good Luck! Oh yeah, the kit comes with instructions too!

I manufacture two kits to repair your 1987-92 Firebird headlight actuators. 207280 headlight repair kit has 3 Delrin bushings (enough to repair one headlight) and is $6.25.
209280 deluxe headlight repair kit will repair two headlights and is $20. It includes 6 Delrin bushings, new gaskets, grease and screws and nuts (in case you snap them off during the repair). Both kits include detailed illustrated instructions.

you can't switch motors from one side to the other. if you look at them carefully you'll see they have 2 different part #s

I can tell you. The motors are not interchangeable and can't be made interchangeable side to side.

I know the assembly can't but can you take the motor iteslf out of the housing and put in the other or do the motors turn opposite of eachother. It is the motor itelf I am concerned with not the gear and the linkage and such.
