My custom console idea
Heres what i wanna do,
Get the lokar led mount anywhere gear indicator and mount it above my radio, make one smooth piece of aluminum, from my glovebox all the way up to teh radio and a/c pod delete the ashtray and get rid of the b+m shift plate. Then make a nice black leather shift boot for the b+m and MOVE my window and hatch release switches into the front inner wall of the glove box mounted vertically so it is nice and smooth no switches or seams in the top mount my a/c and radio flush to the aluminum. What ya think?
Heres the led indicator i want

I've thought about doing that myself, looks pretty cool if done right. What's even funnier is this topic came up about 2 years ago when that thing came out and just abuot everybody was flaming the whole idea of it. The evil and bad word r!ce came up a few times. But anyways, like I said, if done right it would look really good.

Not sure how the indicator works, need to contact lokar this week and find out. Tomorrow is the first day i have had off in about 3 weeks and that includes workign weekends so i am getting it home to yank the seats out to get those into the upholster's, replace a hinge pin and hopefully make a cardboard template of the console, i basically want it "street rod" style all smooth, with just a few nice black torx head screws holding it down and the leather boot, all the different "sections" would now be one smooth piece. I'm liking the idea of putting the switches inside the console, out of sight plus they're close enough that the wiring will be able to be connected without modification.
This is the only pic i could find to kinda give you the idea, basically picture the glovebox where the ebrake is (ebrake will remain in stock spot on mine), i want that kinda smooth look,
i was thinking brushed aluminum, polishing it or shooting it gloss black, someone suggested doign it teal liek the body color but i think that would look tacky.
