take your time cutting out(enlarging) the hole for the shifter/console....one tip I saw that came in handy was to make sure your carpet was slid all the way forward...into position, before you start marking /cutting
all in all,its not a bad job,and VERY rewarding
Good Luck

Yep, not too bad at all, but like Brock said, make sure your carpet is slid all the way forward! I didn't check myself as much as I should have and I now wish I'd had mine an inch or two father forward, but overall it still looks so awesome compared to what was in there before that it doesn't bother me too awefully much. Just take your time and you'll be happy with the results!

make it easy on your self and save the money for a pre-fit pre-cut carpet for your car. That way there is no errors, or odd corners you have to cut and mend around. Avaliable throught www.yearone.com and I think still avaliable through www.jcwhitney.com

I got mine from 1A auto Also..it was an ACC carpet
Dont let anyone fool you,no matter how much they say its "molded" ,trust me you still need to trim/cut
yearone sells ACC carpets, same as 1A auto, probably JC whitney as well, along with the board sponsors up top
Thanks

I just re-did mine and must say that it is definately worth the time. Check out my website for the step-by-step transformation...

I got both the seats and the carpet from ABC upholstery. They get their stuff from the same distributor as the big boys, with a discounted price...

I purchased an 830-buckskin pre-molded carpet for 115 plus shipping. The brand was Trim parts inc. from www.stockinteriors.com.
Installation went in nicely, needed to be trimmed up like any pre molded carpet, but good price.

When you installed your carpet did you remove the seat belt anchors or not? It doesn't look like a torx bit will work, at least no the T45, T50 I have. If you didn't take out the belts than did you just make a single slit to slip the carpet over them?

I too thought jcwhitney had pre-cut ones, but jcwhitney only has PRE-MOLDED ones. You still have to cut there carpet. Just becareful for the seatbelts, i did a little slit for mine and it turned out to be about a 3-4 inch slit once the seat belt was all the way through.

I got a complete set from 1aauto...and must say I was impressed with the fit...The back section just fell into place, and little trim fitting on the front....

But to beat a dead horse make sure it is all the way forward, I used my take out as a template and everything went great....

Thanks for tip on using a T47. I bought a complete set with the T47 at Sears. (The Torx brand Master set)They do not have the T47 by itself. I posted before that my Dove Gray carpet that A1 Auto lists as #877 had a blue tint. Well it took them more than a week but they sent me the samples they promised. It confirmed that #877 is the correct matching color for my interior only the carpet they sent me is not the same color as the sample!. I'm not sure I am going to wait on a replacement.
I stripped the seat frames out today and sandblasted the rust off of them today. I decided to use a "rust fix" spray on the shifter and other parts so I did not have to take them out of the car.

I just put new carpet in my third gen im restoring. It took me 2 hours or so, What I did was layed my new carpet out then layed the old on top of it and formed it as close as i could as to what it is in the car then took fabric dye spray paint and marked the holes and it was pretty damn close and made the install really easy. Some people may not be up for dying parts of their new carpet though but it is all hidden once seats and center console are bolted back in.

oh also i let my carpet sit out in the sun for the afternoon to make it softer and easier to work with. All in all it probably took me 45-60 minutes.

Those buttons control the power inflatable lumbar support and side bolsters in my seats. The air pump is under the passenger seat and control wires along with pressure lines run under the carpet between the passenger and driver seats. I had to make my own wiring/air harness when I installed my seats, but everything works great now! Hope I helped!

Unfortunately I don't have any wiring diagrams or pictures. All I did was match the wiring up color by color between the two seats and run vacuum line between the seats that was a good size to hook them together. It was pretty simple really. Then I just ran a single power wire to the fuse box. It's pretty straightforward, but I wish I did have more pics from my carpet install. Let me know if I can help out with anything else!!
