Who has an auto shifter **** off another car in theirs?
I was thinking of finding a more attractive looking **** to replace my factory one on my 88 auto. Has anyone done this? Will most GM factory style auto ***** work?

I have a 90's Grand Prix shift **** on mine now, along with an aftermarket leather shift boot. I like it, it's much easier to shift manually than the stock Camaro square ****, and better looking IMO.
Any 87 and newer GM shift **** with the staple type retainer should interchange. 86 and older had the retainer on the top of the ****, under the button.
The Pontiac shift ***** are more of a blueish black, than the stock Camaro, but black shoe polish makes it look identical. I also painted the grey button black to match the shift ****. You have to use water base acryllic semi gloss black. Oil base paints will not work, I found this out the hard way.

It is a really easy and cheap mod. Also I can go back to the stock shifter, because i didn't have to change the shift plate at all to install the shift boot.
