paint's always a good idea, if you're going for a "stock appearance" clean it up good. Get good paint, and go with stock componets, clean = good. I'd say go with a new stock GM Blue, that'll give a nice factory look to your vehicle, so i'd hit it up sith something from chevy's current line up, shouldn't be hard to find, plus not overly expensive either. Then grab urself some wheels that'll look nice, once again go w/ something stock. There's no need to keep it to thirdgen stock, vette rims will look slick on a ride like that, so go w/ it. The SS hood gives a great stock/ performance related look to the vehicle, w/o giving the "i hotrodded this thang" look. Clean up a factory interior, get some 4th gen maro leather in the color of your choice, order new carpet, re-weather strip and seal her, clean engine bay, or remove engine and paint engine bay while doing body work, reinstall new "cleaned and painted" engine. Make the car look like it rolled off the showroom floor, as a 2004 model 1986 camaro....
Oh yeh, get some front ground fx, that'll really help the look of the car.

personally I love the "it looks like it came from the factory that way" look. I eventually am gonna put different wheels on my car, but right now anybody that doesn't know much about third gens thinks my car is totally stock. the SS hood really looks like it belongs with the aero GFX. I think you should slap some 91-92 gfx and an ss on it call it a day.

ok do this, make a camaro sleeper. put a noise restricting exhaust on it. drop a 502 fuel injected motor in it. put in the 700r4 tranny. then invite me over and ill bring two bats. we will beat the **** out of the car and then scratch it all up. is that what you mean by alot under the hood? lol that would be great no? no look wise but performance yes. id drive it.

because i was bored...
sorry bout this bad photoshop, coulda been better if i was more practiced.
all that's done is lower, z06 wheels, all painted, door handle shaved, gfx added to the front, removed iroc decal and Z28 emblem. The color is something close to the 05 vette blue, can't remember the name, but can be found if u look it up. lol. hope its good enough for the boards.

The way you photoshoped that car is not very stock looking. i thought you wanted stock.
P.S. I second on the sleeper look. leave the "two tone" paint job and mismatched wheels and put some power in the hood. that would be bad.

my idea wasn't so much stock, however it was kinda like "new stock" or an "updated look" .... the idea is basically like, take something from the 80's and givei t something from the more "modern times" the way it would be done now.

the wheels are not mismatched....and the front end was in an accident.....the only reason the front wheel is a differant color is that the last camaro they were on had brake work done on the rear driver side....and they never torqed the wheel so it riped off doing 70 on 495,...it was unsalvagable,..took all the bolt stems with it too, so the spare was useless, the same place that made it happen fixed it but they didnt paint the new wheel... ..and i got screwed on the front end cuz they didnt paint it at the shop and they were supposed too.....so im not very lucky hahaha SCREW YOU J&J AUTOMOTIVE ON 122 IN UXBRIDGE MASSACHUSETTES!!! IM STILL NOT PAYING YOU BACK FOR THE RS!!!

they didnt tighten the wheel on my RS and it ripped off.....couldnt even put it back on i loved that car...I'm from Millville....you dont by any chance know Brian Driscoll do you?....and youve prolly seen or heard the RS as it never had a muffler and it was a 305. it was blue and the whole front end was in primer, had the blue rims in the pic at the top..
