1992 Dash in a 1988 Camaro.
I was wondering if you can put a dash out of a 1992 camaro into an 1988 Camaro. I have not looked at anything and don't know if they are the same or different. I have an 88 that I am building but the dash is bad and I have found a dash out of a 1992. Just wondering if it can be done. Thanks

bolting it in is pretty easy and straighforward actually. The fun part comes when you have to wire the gauges up. The speedo in your '88 is cable driven. The newer dashes are electical. If you are getting the dash from a donor car, be sure to get the VSS control box and all associated wiring. Do a . There are a couple threads that have good info on it.

I am not really concerned about the wiring part. I am going to take all the stock gauges out and replace them with autometer gauges. The car is basically a race car that gets driven on the street and I figure the autometers are more accurate. Thanks for the info. I will do a search and see what I can find. Thanks

It doesnt bolt straight in properly, the main dash mounts are different on each end, you have to change them if you dont want a hackjob.
