91-92 ground effects question
I have an 89 Iroc and I put the 91-92 ground effects on it and they dont really seem to be the same length as my original ground effects. for example
the front lower peice that wraps around the nose and fenders does not quiet rech the wheel wells
the rocker ground effects do not line up on the car well and seem to be to short as well
Am I the only one who has this problem? And if so do I need to switch over to 91-92 fenders to solve the problem?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Car: 1988 Camaro(92 Z28 clone)
Engine: Forged 383, AFR 195 419/430@wheels

I have just done this swap on my 88 camaro last week. I had to drill all new holes for the rockers and rear 1/4 panel extensions. The front of the rockers line up with the front fender lip, but in the rear there is about a 1/2 inch gap between the end of the rocker and where it is supposed to meet with the rear fender lip. Rear bumper cover bolted up fine with no problems, and I don't have the front spoiler piece yet so I can't comment on that one.

So im not the only one! Does anybody know if the fenders are to blame for this problem? What I am thinking is maybe they (82-90 fenders) have a slightly smaller wheel opening than 91-92s and that explains the fittment issues. Anybody got any other ideas?

I was in a parking lot yesterday and I saw a factory 91 RS so I swung by and took a look at the ground effects. It also has the same size gap from the rear of the rocker panel and the rear wheel opening so I don't think that the fenders are different.

I wonder what the hell is going on! Why do some peoples fit and others not
By the way the circled areas are the places to look for issues
Everybody that has these ground effects please tell me if yours has this problem or not.

I have a problem with the rear of the front tire hitting the gfx on both sides.
What front tire sizes are you guys running that don't have this problem. I currently have 255/50-16 and they rub bad.

Did anyone have problems with the door peices going on or did you have to drill new holes?? I tried to fit up a door peice and the bolt were in a different spot.

Mine went on pretty easy, most of the holes need to be redrilled and old ones filled, but it's all pretty self explainitory. If you are having fitment issues with the fender check if it's a GM fender, aftermarket fenders are crap and don't fit quite right. (let alone they are thinner and will dent easier)
Also, I am running 285/40/17's in the front and rear and the front rubs a little bit when the wheels are turned hard over. I did a little bit of clearancing on the front GFX and side pieces to aleviate the issue.

Pics finally
I have been really busy lately due to change in job location(same co.). Had to borrow a truck to move SnapOn box anyway.
Here is my fitment issues some are bad but i hope my uncle can fix some. But most is do to my install (hole locations) i think.
Most i dont think anyone is going to notice once i get it painted.

In reguards to pic #2 both my old and new door gfx piecesdid this. If the panel sat even with the edge of the door, it would get caught on the rocker panel as you open up the door. And as far as pic #3, both of my rockers have that same gap in the rear about 1/2 inch. Also, in one of my previous posts I mentioned that I saw a 91 RS in a parking lot. That car also has the same gap in the rear so that is the way it is supposed to be it looks like.
