How are Mr. Mike's leather seats?
I have seen several positive comments about Mr. Mike's, but before I lay out over a grand for new seat covers and door panels, I just want to know if anyone has had bad experiences. Or please let me know if you like the product. Also, does the black leather match the black dash and other trim? I tried 4th gen ebony seats but, while they are close, they don't quite match the interior trim (I know ... I'm picky). It sounds like the leather is good quality.
I have a '92 convertible. Would really like to hear from anyone else that has done their convertible interior in black leather. I don't see the rear interior side panels advertised on Mike's site (just the door panels). I sent him an email on it. I assume he can provide the back panels too.
Thanks!
Brian

Mr Mikes stuff is very high quality, and priced pretty well compared to having a custom leather interior done...that could easily be 3-4 times as much. I'm not sure how well it will match the thirdgen stuff (I saw one of their interiors in a Fiero), but their black is a true black so it should look fine. Hawk's can do seatcovers on a custom basis in a material called Hampton Vinyl that looks and feels like leather, but is more resistant to UV (important in a convertible) and heat damage than leather. Redraif is running one of the first custom sets they did on her PMDS, and ordered extra material and covered the doorpanels and rear panels herself. If you haven't seen in, her website is:

I second seeing Mr. Mike firsthand in a Fiero (actually about 4 at the last show). It always looks amazing. He offers tons of colors as well as the option of designing your own seat/pattern out of basically whatever you want.
Here are random pictures of Mr. Mike's seats that I have seen in Fieros:
They defantly look good. I'm planning on e-mailing him to see if I can just get a cover for the rear seat as I plan on putting aftermarket seats in front.

Thanks for the info guys!
Anyone had the back interior panels done in leather on a convertible? Wonder if I have to send my originals in to Mike to have them done.

Again going off the Fiero thing, I don't think you have to send anything anything to him. I'm pretty sure you install everything yourself. I could be wrong though.

You are correct. The kit Mr. Mike sells is a custome fit seat cover to your seats. You get a video that shows you hao to disassemble you old seat covers and install Mr. Mikes. To my understanding they fit and install identical to the factory original covers. Fit tight and correctly. What variety they ofer in 3rd gen seats i don't know. I know they had kits for my old f-body seats, but there were quite a few. Make sure you get good pics of them and let them see them. Now I was considering Mr. Mikes covers and got some samples. The leather quailty and color is EXCELLENT! Black is very black! None of this Ebony crap!
To give you a bit of an idea what you will be getting into when recovering seats yourself...
Check out my NEW Interior webpage... I have a specific page showing pics as I recovered my seats with Hawks Hampton Covers. The design of the Hampton Vinyl covers is also identical to factory. There for I figure they are very close to what you will get with Mr. Mikes as far as how you install them.
Now if the recovering part is not for you...you can get a local upolsrty place to do the recovering as well!

I am thinking about installing Mr. Mikes. I got leather samples from them and they are very nice.
Once I install them, I will post pics and my installation experience
