i like how everything is well hidden but it looks waaayyyy to plain were the ac was. something needs to go there. maybe a new igniton setup.

Sorry, I don't care for it. It looks just like every other thirdgen that's had the heater box replaced with a flat panel. I think I'd like it if you smoothed the entire firewall though.

 

Where did you get the chrome radiator support? Firewall looks awesome and so does the rest of the engine bay

 

got the support off of ebay literally after abotu 6months of searching. those things are few and far between trust me!!! im in the process of making custom aluminum splash guards for the thirdgen for people that run very large rear slicks tires etc.

 

i think it looks slick and uncluttered. purposefull, thats the word i wanted. well done camaroracer

 

i like it, could be a little cleaner but it's getting there....loose the bear.

 

Its too bad the engine doesn't go with anything else in the engine compartment. You should have painted the block a different color.

 

Loose the bear and the colored loom...other than that looks good.

looks really good! I'm doing the same with my 87's firewall, though there will be a 4 way bulkhead fitting for the Vintage Air setup. To me it would look a little better with the motor either color keyed to the body color, or painted black so as not to stand out...but thats minor. Good job!

I may be crazy... but doesn't that look P-shopped? Look at the strut support... it is fuzzy, why isnt anything else fuzzy? Is it my monitor? Am I seeing things?

the picture is real i assure you. i am going to be going with a MSD 6AL box painted in teal on the firewall soon. the car currently is an 11 flat car with 1.48 60's launching on 150 shot.

 

If it is real.... (I'm really not trying to be a jerk)... then why is there no reflection off of anything?? The other side has shadows, reflections, etc.....

Do you have any other pics? (Fatal88 has a really nice firewall)

 

picture was taken on a cloudy day at a car show. i dont need to justify the engine bay anymore. some of the criticisms that have come about on this thread id like to see what YOUR engine bay looks like! Everyones car is notperfect in this world nor am i protesting that mine is. some people should think before they type.

'course, I could never do that. No heater + canadian winter (yes, I am forced to drive it sometimes) = Me very cold and none too happy.

Whats that got to do with anything? I was just asking for a couple more pics... I'd like to see another smoothed firewall... They usually look really good.

I am the only one that seems to have said anything about it, but what does my engine bay have to do with anything? If you must see it, I've got pics on my website (I need to renew my domain name, but I think it's still redirecting...) I'm not here to brag on my own engine bay... although I do think it looked nice when I took the pics..

What is all that supposed to mean? Especially: "Some people should think before they type" The assumption that I am not thinking before I send out a message is an unjustified one.


In my previous post, in perhaps too many words, I was asking to see more pics.
I mentioned Fatal88's firewall becuase he has half-a-million pictures on every area of his car... especially the areas that he wants to show off... Most people do the same thing...
As an example of this, although not on my website, I have more pictures of the front / hood of my car than any other shot. It is my favorite view and consequently the view that I show people wanting to look at my car...

In any case, got any more pics?

 

What's the story behind the bear?

 

Don't ask people (or demand they tell you) what they think and then complain that not everyone is ga-ga over your picture. It's simply just not going to appeal to all and, you wanted to be told.

I don't much care for it myself even though it looks like a well done & detailed bay.

Here's my (incomplete) bay if you're going to take my not liking yours very well.....

 

Get a better monitor, I can see the reflection of something that continues on the windshielf, and the loom has a clear reflection at the bottom.

It's too plain for my tastes but definately looks good for a show car.

 

Just FYI, I've got a dual moniter setup (1 Philips LCD & 1 Dell Trinitron Flat Screen Monotor)

I'd still like to see more pics... Why have such a modified car, and no more pics?

 

ME likes! I see a refletion too...looks real to me!

 

the towers are by far the best aspect, sharp color and looks good. a few things i think that could help it out but for the most part it's above and beyond stock which is nice.

i'm getting ready to do mine soon, smoothing out that top section seems to be the most difficult as building it up is a pita.
