Just looking for opinions. To those with 4thgen dashes... Are you happy with the results or do you regret it?
As far as the car's appearance... Do you feel like you're in a newer car? Is there anything that you would've done differently?

Well, to answer the questions. I am happy with the results, there are alwasy things that could be changed, that you think you "don't care about" at the time, but normally, you'll end up going back and making those changes as necessary to get things "up to par" however, it would have been nice to have things the way i originally wanted from the get go.
The appearance is excellent, functionality is somewhat improved also.
Things i really like about it
nicer curves
updated look
back-lit guages
switched headlights instead of the push button setup
cupholder
Things that are still holding my car back,
i haven't put the door panels on yet, that'll be a winter project when i come home from college
my carpet still needs replacing for that "it's new" smell
Seals and weatherstripping is a must if i plan on finishing the carpet
speedo needs to work , LOL, gotta dig into the tranny for that, so , once the car isn't needed "everyday!" it'll get done
Tach isn't acurate (don't have a v8, need a v8 tach signal, need a dakota converter box to get it to work)
besides those things, i'm loving it...oh, and i need to change steering wheels, or as soon as i get like 10 bux, buy one of those stupid wheel cover thingies, cause my 20 year old leather one is flaking away, really takes away from the look of the interior.
In the end, would i do it again, absolutely, its a really fun swap, and straight forward (except the automatic center console) and all the wiring, i feel like i'm now really "intune" with my car.

Thanks for the info. Thats exactly the type of material I am looking for.
I am going to attempt the swap and just want to make sure its going to be worth it after I spend the time/money to get the thing installed.
Anyone else?

I love my 4thgen Bird dash. Much smoother and cleaner looking than the 3rdgen. It does feel like a whole new car now, a more uptodate one. Like already said its a very easy mod to do.
